Located in North Carrollton, Toothacres Pet Care Center is surrounded by acres of tree lined property owned by the Clem Family since 1849. Throughout the 1950's and 60's, Truman "Doc" Clem, pursued his goal of training champion field trial Labrador retrievers. He accomplished this goal twice with two champions, Gus and Otto. In 1967, he opened Toothacres Kennels with the assistance of his wife Bettye and her mother Gladys Crider. Since that time Toothacres Pet Care Center has become the leader in providing the finest and most up to date services for your pet and will continue to do so in the future. Today their sons Casey and Kelly are active hands-on owners of both the kennel and cemetery.

So where did the name come from? "Doc" Clem is a dentist who has maintained his practice in Lewisville since 1959. His first field champion was Gus, whose registered name was "Clem's Midnight Toothache". He chose to modify Toothache to Toothacres and the Legend was born.

We welcome you to take a look back in time with some of the cherished family photos to see when it all started with one man, one dog, and one dream.
